Michele Morrone calls Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick ‘talented’ and ‘professional’ ahead of Another Simple Favour release

Popular Italian actor Michele Morrone is set to bring a new dimension to the stylish suspense saga of Another Simple Favor, the sequel to Paul Feig’s 2018 film A Simple Favour. Reprising the sharp wit and mystery that made the first film a hit, the sequel stars Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick once again as Emily Nelson and Stephanie Smothers — and this time, they’re headed to Italy.

Morrone, known globally for his breakout roles in romantic thrillers, joins the cast as Dante Versano, a mysterious figure from Emily’s past who is now poised to marry her. Set against the sun-drenched backdrop of Capri, Another Simple Favour explores deception, dysfunction, and glamour with its signature mix of sleek visuals and dark humor.

 

Reflecting on his experience working with Lively and Kendrick, Morrone had nothing but praise for his co-stars. “Blake is one of the most polite, gentle, and truly professional co-stars that I’ve ever had in my career,” Morrone shared. He also recounted a light-hearted moment on set and shared, “I used to teach her Italian, and she used to teach me some English slang!”

 

Morrone was equally complimentary of Anna Kendrick, who reprises her role as the awkward yet resourceful Stephanie. “She’s so focused on her work. She is so talented. I don’t think that there could be any other actress playing the role of Stephanie,” he added.

 

While the plot remains tightly under wraps, the film teases a lavish destination wedding in Capri — a far cry from the suburban secrets of the first instalment. Yet beneath the glamour and postcard-perfect setting, a fresh mystery unfolds, challenging the façade of luxury with chaos, secrets, and unexpected twists.

 

Directed by Paul Feig, Another Simple Favour also features a supporting cast that includes Andrew Rannells, Bashir Salahuddin, Elizabeth Perkins, Alex Newell, Elena Sofia Ricci, with Henry Golding and Allison Janney returning to the fold. The sequel is set to premiere on Prime Video on May 1 across 240 countries and territories.
