Zeenat Aman shares a throwback picture of an Ad she had shot in her teens

Veteran actor-model Zeenat Aman’s Instagram is not like any other celebrity’s account. Unlike others, she prefers sharing details about her professional life, her past experiences and much more. She recently shared a picture from her modelling days where the actress is still in her teens.

On Tuesday, Zeenat Aman took a trip down memory lane and shared a throwback picture form her modelling days. In the picture, she can be promoting a tea brand in front of Taj Mahal in Agra. The actress was 16 years old in the photo. Sharing the picture, she captioned, “Before beauty pageants and cinema and becoming ‘the’ Zeenat Aman, I was just a determined school girl who happened to have a photogenic face.

 

The Taj Mahal tea advertisement was shot on site in Agra. I must have been all of 16 years old, and was very earnest about my new job. The photographer, Obi, was equally dedicated and we shot at different locations around the Taj in a quest for the perfect image. The earrings I’m wearing in this photo were my own, and I still have them with me to this day.

 

It really was a wonderful experience, though I think Zakir Hussain @zakirhq9 ultimately outdid me in the advertising department with the genius “wah Taj” campaign that was launched many years later.

 

I believe a copy of this ad now hangs at the Taj Mahal Tea House in Bandra.”

I wish your generation had this social media back then to let us, the audience know your persona beneath the grandeur of stardom, the scoops of which came through often from a space of gossip mongering, yellow journalism & malicious intent to gain tabloid circulation.” A comment read, “What a priceless photo and such an interesting history behind it. Your posts are truly heart-warming, Zeenat Ji. And I look forward to them every day!,” “Mam, I look forward to reading your posts. So raw and authentic. Miles away from the overly curated Instagram aesthetics and filters,” read another comment.

 

Zeenat Aman is an Indian actress and a former model. The Evil Within (1970), starring Dev Anand, marked the former beauty queen's acting debut. She has acted in films like Yaadon Ki Baarat, Satyam Shivam Sundaram, Qurbani, Dharam Veer, Hare Rama Hare Krishna, Insaaf Ka Tarazu among others.
