Shefali Shah to play Jijamata, Rishab Shetty’s mother in The Pride of Bharat: Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj

In a notable casting update, Shefali Shah has come on board for Sandeep Singh’s upcoming film The Pride of Bharat: Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The National Award-winning actress will portray Jijamata, the revered mother of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, while Rishab Shetty takes on the role of the legendary warrior king in the Sandeep Singh-directed project.

Directed by Sandeep Singh, renowned for his exceptional cinematic vision, The Pride of Bharat: Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj aims to bring to life the story of one of Asia’s greatest warrior kings with grandeur, authenticity, and richly developed character arcs. Supported by a stellar technical team that includes multiple National and Academy Award winners, the historical epic promises a visually stunning and emotionally compelling cinematic experience, setting a new benchmark for Indian cinema.

 

The film is scheduled for a wide theatrical release on 21st January 2027 in multiple languages, including Hindi, Marathi, Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Bengali, ensuring it reaches audiences across India and beyond.
