Ranbir Kapoor becomes 'Chingum' for a hilarious ad with Rohit Shetty, watch

Hold onto your hats, Bollywood fans, because two of the biggest names in the industry have joined forces for a high-octane commercial adventure! Renowned action director Rohit Shetty and heartthrob actor Ranbir Kapoor are teaming up for Tata AIG's latest campaign, titled "Expect the Expected."

The campaign, launched in January 2024, takes viewers behind the scenes of a typical Rohit Shetty film shoot, where the line between reality and cinematic spectacle blurs hilariously. Ranbir, playing the role of Chingum K (a cop), gets pushed to the limit as Rohit demands ever-more-dazzling stunts and explosions. Ranbir throws himself into the chaos with his signature charm and comedic timing.

The brand, in a press note, stated, “This campaign is based on the brand’s ability to deliver on its promises in their entirety. Our campaign uses the humorous analogy of expecting the expected when it comes to tropes in a Rohit Shetty film and equates it to the similar certainty and expectedness from Tata AIG’s Health Insurance, where claims are expected to be complete as promised.”

Meanwhile, Riaan Rodrigues, Sr. Vice President – Digital Business & Marketing at TATA AIG, expressed enthusiasm about the campaign, stating, “Tata AIG always believes in transparency. This belief is at the core of everything we do. Our fun new campaign brings it alive in a fresh and unexpected manner.”

Coming back to Bollywood stars, Ranbir is currently enjoying the success of his latest release, Animal. Released in December 2023, the film is directed and written by Sandeep Reddy Vanga. Besides Kapoor, it also stars Rashmika Mandanna, Anil Kapoor and Bobby Deol.

Meanwhile, Shetty is gearing up for his OTT debut show, Indian Police Force. Starring Sidharth Malhotra, Shilpa Shetty and Vivek Oberoi, it will start streaming on Amazon Prime Video from January 19.
