Rajkumar Hirani to lead jury for IFFI’s inaugural Best Web Series Award
In a significant step recognizing the growing prominence of web series, the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) has introduced a new award category for Best Web Series (OTT) at its 54th edition. Renowned filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani will lead a five-member jury for this inaugural award, highlighting the festival's commitment to honoring excellence in the ever-evolving realm of web entertainment.

Joining Hirani on the jury panel are actors Divya Dutta and Prosenjit Chatterjee, along with filmmakers Krishna DK and Utpal Borpujari. This esteemed group brings together diverse perspectives and expertise, ensuring a comprehensive evaluation of the 32 web series entries submitted across 10 languages from 15 OTT platforms.
The winning series will be presented with a certificate and a cash prize of Rs 10 lakh, signifying IFFI's recognition of the artistic merit, storytelling excellence, technical prowess, and overall impact of outstanding web series.
This initiative aligns with IFFI's ongoing efforts to foster a vibrant and inclusive platform for showcasing cinematic excellence from around the world. By introducing the Best Web Series (OTT) Award, the festival acknowledges the transformative impact of web series on the global entertainment landscape and celebrates the creative brilliance of its creators.
As the 54th IFFI prepares to kick off, the anticipation for this groundbreaking award category is palpable. With Rajkumar Hirani at the helm of the jury and a diverse range of entries, the Best Web Series (OTT) Award is set to become a highlight of the festival, recognizing the exceptional talent and innovation that drive the web entertainment industry. The event, which has started from today onwards in Goa, will conclude on November 28.
