Om Raut on 150 days for Adipurush, “World will witness India’s timeless epic”

Filmmaker Om Raut, yesterday, observed 150 more days to go for the release of his mythological saga Adipurush on Twitter. He shared a couple of images with a verse from Hanuman Chalisa that read, “Shri Ram Kaaj Karibe Ko Aatur,” along with the words, “Jai Shri Ram.” For those not in the know, Hanuman was the prime devotee of Lord Ram. Hanuman Chalisa expresses his love and devotion for the lord.

Raut captioned the tweet, “We are always delighted to impart the virtue of Lord Ram. The world will witness India's timeless epic in 150 days! #150DaysToAdipurush #Adipurush releases IN THEATRES on June 16, 2023 in 3D.”

 

Adipurush was earlier supposed to release in January this year but it was postponed to enhance the final visuals. While sharing this news last year, Raut had said in a statement, “Adipurush is not a film, but a representation of our devotion to Prabhu Sri Ram and commitment towards our sanskriti and history. In order to give a complete visual experience to the viewers, we need to give more time to the teams working on the film. Adipurush will now release on June 16, 2023. We are committed to make a film that India is proud of. Your support, love and blessings is what keeps us going.”

 

 

 

At the end of last year, there were some unconfirmed reports about Adipurush being pushed even further but Raut’s tweet has indirectly squashed them as rumours.

 

The teaser of Adipurush had released in October last year and it faced a heavy backslash for its VFX and the visuals. Hence, it is speculated that this might be the reason why the film was postponed from January to June. Reacting to the response the teaser got, Raut had said during its special screening, “I was disheartened for sure, not surprised because the film is made for a larger medium – the big screen.”

 

Adipurush stars Prabhas, Kriti Sanon and Saif Ali Khan in the roles of Ram, Sita and Raavan respectively.
