"Now you need to get settled": Mrunal Thakur on family pressure, says she's open to arranged marriage amid rumours with Dhanush

Actor Mrunal Thakur has opened up about conversations around marriage at home, saying she is open to the idea of an arranged match even as she joked that a suitable partner has yet to appear. Her remarks come amid recent rumours linking her to Dhanush, though she did not address the speculation directly.

Mrunal is currently promoting her film Do Deewane Seher Mein, co-starring Siddhant Chaturvedi, which released in theatres on February 20. Speaking to Showshaa India, she shared that discussions about her settling down have become increasingly frequent at home.

 

“It’s literally like daydreaming, in parents’ minds, wedding bells are always ringing,” she said, adding that the subject surfaced again during a recent exchange with her father. “In fact, last night my dad told me, ‘Now you need to get settled.’”

 

She recalled responding by suggesting that her family help find a prospective match. “And I said, ‘Why don’t you call your sister and ask if she knows a good guy for your daughter?’” she said, describing how the conversation soon turned humorous. “He asked, ‘Where is the guy?’ And I said, ‘Exactly – where is the guy?’ If you’re asking me this, what should I say then? This is every household’s story.”

 

Her comments reflect the familiar expectations many families have around marriage while indicating that she remains pragmatic about the idea. For now, the actor appears focused on her professional commitments as Do Deewane Seher Mein arrives in cinemas.
