The motion poster of Jai Hind Jai Sindh: A Love Story was launched yesterday in Dehradun. The film brings together veteran actors Mahesh Manjrekar, Jaya Prada and Zarina Wahab on screen. Backed by Sammy’s Entertainment, the patriotic travel-love drama is directed by Indrajit Lankesh.
Described as an epic romance celebrating unity in diversity, the film tells a love story born out of the Partition. Along with Manjrekar, Jaya Prada and Zarina Wahab, the cast also includes Vikram Kochhar, Akaisha Vats, Upasna Singh and Amit Behl. The story blends romance with themes of patriotism and identity.
Set against the cultural backdrop of Sindh, the film highlights the community’s contribution to shaping modern India. While the central plot revolves around a relationship, the larger message focuses on harmony among people from different backgrounds. The makers call it a “love letter” to India’s 1.4 billion citizens, who may speak different languages, follow different traditions and eat different food, yet live together peacefully.
The project is also close to producer Sammy Nanwani’s heart, as it draws inspiration from real-life experiences from his own journey.
Speaking about the film’s message, the makers said, “In a world currently fractured by conflict, where small nations struggle to coexist, India stands as a miracle.” They believe that if two people can find harmony through love, then a nation of 1.4 billion can also resolve its differences with compassion and understanding.
