Jaane Jaan star Kareena Kapoor Khan on making streaming debut: “I feel this whole generation of OTT actors are giving the big stars a run for their money”

Kareena Kapoor Khan is all set to make her digital debut with Jaane Jaan later this month. Netflix unveiled the trailer of the upcoming thriller starring Kareena, Jaideep Ahlawat and Vijay Varma a week ago. The film is directed by Sujoy Ghosh and it is adapted from ‘The Devotion of Suspect X’ which is a 2005 novel by Japanese writer Keigo Higashino.

Speaking to Indian Express, Kareena opened up about making her streaming debut and how her husband and actor Saif Ali Khan encouraged her. She said, “The good thing is he (Saif) has always pushed me to challenge myself. After the babies also he has always told me to choose scripts that require you and show your talent and passion. It is nice of him to push me in that direction.”

 

The actor continued, “When I said that I am working with Jaideep and Vijay, they are trained in a different way and somehow I feel this whole generation of OTT actors are giving the big stars a run for their money in terms of their performance. I think he meant it in a good way when he said be a lot more focused, and be on your toes working with Jaideep and Vijay because they are so good. I think that was really good advice. And he is also a fantastic actor.”

 

The trailer of the movie gives a glimpse into all the mysterious happenings in the chilly and pine-tree-covered Kalimpong, as it delves into the complex intertwined relationships and secrets. Maya (Kareena Kapoor Khan), Naren (Jaideep Ahlawat) and Karan (Vijay Varma) navigate through a web of emotions and unforeseen circumstances as they cover up and uncover clues in a bid to outwit each other.

 

Jaane Jaan will release on September 21, 2023.
