EXCLUSIVE: Shahid Kapoor talks about Kareena Kapoor: "She is also an amazing dancer"

Bollywood star Shahid Kapoor, known for his impeccable dance moves, recently opened up about his experiences as a dancer in the industry. In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama, he revealed how his co-stars often asked him to tone down his energy while performing. "Co-actors bol deti thi ki itna kyun dance kar raha hai, thoda kam dance kar yaar,” Shahid shared, recalling his early days.

Interestingly, when Shahid was asked about some of the best dancers from Bollywood, he mentioned Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Deepika Padukone, Pooja Hegde, Katrina Kaif and Kiara Advani but did not mention Kareena Kapoor, his Jab We Met co-star and former girlfriend. However, when the audience shouted her name, Shahid playfully responded, "You like her? She is also an amazing dancer. Theek hai, happy?", drawing laughter from the crowd.

He further revealed how some even advised him to appear more effortless on screen. "You are looking so desperate, just relax," they would tell him. Many actresses, he said, wanted their dance sequences to look balanced rather than letting him steal the spotlight. "Don't bounce much, just match me, we have to look like a pair," he recounted with a laugh.

Looking back on his initial years in the industry, Shahid admitted that he was even bullied for his dancing skills. "Pehle 10 saal ke career me toh mujhe bully bhi kar dete the, we have to match the dance.” When talking about some of the best dancers he has worked with, Shahid named several actresses, saying, "There are many good dancers like Priyanka, Deepika, Pooja. I had not worked with Katrina and Kiara, but they are fantastic dancers."
