Dulquer Salmaan hails Akshay Kumar and Sudha Kongara’s Sarfira, praises Sudha Kongara for reimagining Suriya starrer: “Authentic and rooted”

Actor Dulquer Salmaan took to social media on Tuesday to shower praise on Sudha Kongara's recently released film Sarfira starring Akshay Kumar. Salmaan not only urged fans to watch the movie but also commended the collective effort behind it.

His appreciation began with acknowledging the difficulty of remaking a classic film. “Reimagining a classic into another language is always so difficult!” he wrote on X, a social media platform. Sarfira, for those unfamiliar, is the Hindi remake of the critically acclaimed Tamil film Soorarai Pottru, starring Suriya.

 

Salmaan's praise extended to director Sudha Kongara. “But my dear @Sudha_Kongara does it effortlessly, making it authentic and rooted!” he exclaimed. He further commended the performances of the lead cast, including Akshay Kumar, Radhika Madan, and Seema Biswas. Praising Kumar's portrayal, Salmaan described him as ‘sincere,’ while appreciating Madan's ‘delightful’ performance and Biswas's ability to evoke strong emotions, stating she ‘makes your insides hurt when she's hurting.’

 

 

 

Salmaan's appreciation didn't stop there. He acknowledged the supporting cast as well, expressing his admiration for veterans Paresh Rawal and Sarathkumar. He wrote, “Ably supported by a fab @SirPareshRawal sir and was such a joy to see our @realsarathkumar.”

 

The actor also took a moment to recognize Suriya and Jyothika, the lead pair from the original film and co-producers of the Hindi remake. “Big congrats to @Suriya_offl Anna and #Jyothika Maam for bringing this story to a wider audience," he wrote. He concluded his message with a shoutout to music composer G. V. Prakash, calling him "bro" and acknowledging his "boundless talent."

 

Written by Sudha and Shalini Ushadevi, with dialogues by Pooja Tolani, and a G.V. Prakash Kumar musical, Sarfira is produced by Aruna Bhatia (Cape of Good Films), South superstars Suriya and Jyotika (2D Entertainment) and Vikram Malhotra (Abundantia Entertainment). The film released in theatres on July 12.
