Choreographer Ashley Lobo surprised to know Vedang Raina was unwell while shooting ‘Ishq Mastana’ from Main Vaapas Aaunga: “It never reflected in his work, attitude, or energy on set”
Choreographer Ashley Lobo has spoken about working with actor Vedang Raina on the song ‘Ishq Mastana’ from the upcoming film Main Vaapas Aaunga, revealing that he was unaware Raina had filmed the track while running a 101-degree fever.
Lobo said, “I’m quite surprised to learn only now that he was unwell at the time because I genuinely had no idea. It never reflected in his work, attitude, or energy on set. In fact, I found Vedang to be incredibly quick, professional, and dedicated throughout.”
He added, “My approach to dance can be a little unconventional, but he was completely open to the process. He observed everything closely, absorbed every instruction, and consistently delivered more than what was expected of him. His ability to learn, adapt, and perform with such ease was truly impressive. It was a sheer joy to work with him.”
‘Ishq Mastana’ blends jazz, classical, and Punjabi folk music. The song is composed, produced, and arranged by AR Rahman, with lyrics by Irshad Kamil and vocals by Mohit Chauhan, Nargis Teji, and Pooja Tiwari.
Directed by Imtiaz Ali, Main Vaapas Aaunga is set against the backdrop of Partition and stars Naseeruddin Shah, Diljit Dosanjh, Sharvari, and Vedang Raina. The film releases in cinemas on June 12, 2026.
