Arjun Kapoor pens a deeply emotional note for mom Mona Shourie on her birth anniversary; says, “I’ve run out of energy & strength”

Actor Arjun Kapoor is the son of film producer Boney Kapoor and his first wife, late Mona Shourie. The two had tied the knot in 1983. However, they got separated and in 1996, Boney married the late actress, Sridevi. Being brought up by his mom, Arjun was very close to Mona. As February 3 marked the birth anniversary of Mona, Arjun left his fans emotional with a note for his mom.

On Friday, the Ki & Ka actor posted a picture of an old letter and wrote a note in memory of his late mother, who passed away in 2012. The caption of his post read, “I’m running out of pictures now Maa. I’ve run out of words also so just putting up something again that sums the child inside me up. Maybe I’ve run out of energy & strength also but today is your birthday and it’s the best day of the year for me, that’s why I promise you I will never give up. I promise you I will find new energy & strength & I promise u I will make u proud wherever u are… love u feels rather empty without ur smile ya…Happy Birthday to my everything,” followed by a red-heart emoticon.

 

Speaking of the letter, which was written in 1997, it read, “Mother. What is a mother. Some say it is the second form of God. I say it is a friend, a brother and sometimes your father. My mother is more precious than gold, more soft than a petal of a flower, more enthusiastic than a teenager, more lovable than myself. (OH) mother don't ever get upset. Because your tears are like fresh droplets of water. But your smile is like RS 1,00,00,000 and much more.”

 

 

 

Reacting to the post, Arjun’s friends, fans and peers from the industry flooded the comments section with red-heart emoticons including Vidya Balan, Huma Qureshi, Rakul Preet Singh, Bhumi Pednekar, Tahira Kashyap and Dia Mirza, among others.

 

Coming to the professional front, the 37-year-old actor was last seen in Kuttey. He has multiple projects in his kitty, including The Ladykiller, and Mere Husband Ki Biwi.
