Mani Ratnam’s upcoming magnum opus Ponniyin Selvan-1 has already given many reasons for the audience to be hooked on the epic historical drama. The makers unveiled the Hindi trailer on Wednesday following a mega event in Chennai for the audio and trailer launch on Tuesday. Adding more to the excitement, Anil Kapoor lends his voice to the Hindi trailer.

Anil Kapoor took to Twitter on Wednesday and wrote, "Thrilled to have played a small part in bringing this epic trailer to life for Maniratnam! Worked with Mani after Pallavai un Pallavi, almost after 40 years! Wishing the team all the best. The trailer looks epic!"

 

 

 

The film stars Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Trisha, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Prabhu, R Sarathkumar, Vikram Prabhu, Jayaram, Prakash Raj, Rahman and Radhakrishnan Parthiban.

 

Based on a novel by Kalki Krishnamoorthy, the film revolves around the power struggle of the Chola empire during the 10th century and will hit the screens in two installments. Jointly Produced by Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions, directed by Mani Ratnam, the music of Ponniyin Selvan is composed by AR Rahman. PS-1 is slated for a worldwide release on September 30, 2022, in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam.
