Kesari Box Office Collections: Kesari surpasses Singh Is Bliing; becomes Akshay Kumar’s second highest opening day grosser

After much talk and immense promotion we finally saw the release of the Akshay Kumar starrer Kesari yesterday. Directed by Anurag Singh, the film which hit a total of 3600 screens in the domestic market opened on a slow note on account of Holi. However, post 3 PM, the box office collections saw massive growth with audience flocking theatres.

In this box office report, we take a look at the opening day collections of Kesari while comparing the same to Akshay Kumar’s previous releases. Collecting Rs. 21.50 cr, the film has managed to surpass the collections of Akshay’s previous release Singh Is Bliing that had collected Rs. 20.67 cr to become the actor’s second highest opening day grosser. However, the business of Kesari, despite the festival of Holi does not manage to surpass the business of Akshay Kumar’s 2018 release Gold that had collected Rs. 25.25 cr. On the other hand, Kesari has managed to record better opening day collections than Akshay Kumar’s other releases like Housefull 3 that collected Rs. 15.21 cr, Brothers that collected Rs. 15.2 cr, Rowdy Rathore that collected Rs. 15.10 cr, Boss that collected Rs. 14.5 cr, Rustom that collected Rs. 14.11 cr, Housefull 2 that collected Rs. 14 cr, and Jolly LLB 2 that had collected Rs. 13.2 cr.

 

As of now, trade expectations are that the business of Kesari will continue to see growth in collections as the weekend progresses. If that wasn’t enough, predictions state that Kesari that enjoys an extended festive weekend is more than likely to become one of Akshay Kumar’s highest opening weekend grossers.
