Box Office: Jab Harry Met Sejal collects Rs. 15.50 crores on Day 3, has an average weekend of Rs. 45.75 crores

 

Even on a conservative scale, Jab Harry Met Sejal was expected to go past the Rs. 60 crore over the weekend. As a matter of fact even that would have been a relatively low number when looked at in the context of a Shah Rukh Khan starrer. After all, his last release Raees (despite clash with Kaabil) had collected Rs. 59.83 crore in its first three days. Even his 'rejected' film Fan had brought in Rs. 52.35 crore over the weekend. Hence, when Jab Harry Met Sejal collects Rs. 45.75 crore over the weekend, it is a low number indeed. In fact when one compares this with the other release of 2017, Tubelight (a rejected film) had brought in Rs. 64.77 crore whereas much smaller budgeted film Jolly LLB 2 too had garnered Rs. 50.46 crore.

 

Taking all these factors into consideration, the trending so far for Jab Harry Met Sejal has not been positive, which means a big lifetime total is now out of question.

 

I remember predicting a few days back that even if the film is not a quality affair it would go past at least the Rs. 125 crore mark. Currently, even Rs. 75 crore seems to be quite a challenging task for the Imtiaz Ali directed film that did bring with it much higher expectations.
