Box Office: Good times continue as Gadar 2 and OMG 2 come together to score over Rs. 25 crores on Friday

For eighth day in succession, the good times are continuing for Bollywood. While last Friday saw a little over Rs. 50 crores coming in between Gadar 2 and OMG 2, the situation is quite good all over again as this Friday to the combined collections have crossed the Rs. 25 crores mark, which is just 50% drop. Yes, there is Ghoomer which has released as well but primarily it’s the Independence Day releases which are bringing in the most moolah.

Gadar 2 has done well to stay over the Rs. 20 crores mark, what with Rs. 20.50 crores coming in. That’s an excellent score as this kind of hold was necessary for the big jump on Saturday to look even more monumental and then Sunday’s consolidation to be superb all over again. The film will now be making a dash for Rs. 30 crores each on both these days. Meanwhile, it has also entered the Rs. 300 Crore Club in a matter of just 8 days as its total stands at Rs. 305.13 crores. Sunny Deol and Anil Sharma would be breaking many more records in days to come and the next big one would be crossing Rs. 400 crores mark, which hopefully will happen by Thursday itself. All time blockbuster.

 

As for OMG 2, it has now crossed the Rs. 90 crores mark, what with Rs. 6.03 crores more coming on Friday, hence taking its total to Rs. 91.08 crores. The Akshay Kumar, Pankaj Tripathi and Yami Gautam starrer has held on well when compared to first Friday score of Rs. 10.26 crores and is now in the 90s. It won’t be nervous 90s though for the Amit Rai directed film since it should jump very well today to take its score past the Rs. 100 crores mark, and if not that then at least come very close to that. Hit!
