Box Office: Day 5 of 2017 – Tiger Zinda Hai occupies the no. 2 spot

 

Salman Khan’s latest release Tiger Zinda Hai is on an unstoppable mode. Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, this spy action thriller that also stars Katrina Kaif released on Friday December 21 to a thunderous response, collecting Rs. 34.10 crore. Saturday was better [Rs. 35.30 crore] while Sunday was extraordinary as collections went to Rs. 45.53 crore. Monday was also huge [Rs. 36.54 crore] as it was Christmas holiday. Many felt that the film will now drop on Tuesday since it was a working day. But Tiger Zinda Hai managed to earn Rs. 21.60 crore which is simply phenomenal. Tiger Zinda Hai’s Day 5 collections now are the second highest of the year. On the no 1 spot is Baahubali 2 - The Conclusion which collected a huge Rs. 30 crore. Toilet - Ek Prem Katha is on the third spot as it collected Rs. 20 crore but that was because it was the Independence Day holiday. On number 4 and 5 are Raees at Rs. 17.80 crore and Kaabil at Rs. 15.05 crore respectively. For both these films, Day 5 fell on a Sunday.
