Yet another achievement for Asha:

So Asha Bhosle has turned music director! Universal released the music of Asha's first album -- AAP KI ASHA -- at a lavish get-together at The Regent, which was graced by brother Hridaynath Mangeshkar, Adnan Sami, Jatin-Lalit, Tutu Sharma, Padmini Kolhapure amongst others. But it was Asha who was the star of the evening. The launch party was different in the sense that it started with models Nethra Raghuraman, Kelly Dorji, Shaan Munshi and Aditi Gowitrikar walking the ramp, with the songstress' numbers playing in the background. The surprise guest was Little Master Sachin Tendulkar, who was invited to release the album. When asked to speak, a visibly emotional Asha remained silent for a few seconds, before giving credit to Universal's Vijay Lazarus for all the encouragement in bringing out this album. She also recalled that it was the late Majrooh Sultanpuri who spotted the talent in her -- as a composer. "Bitiya, if only I had enough money to make a film, I'd sign you as the music director," he told her. Today, Asha stands tall with yet another accomplishment to her credit!
