Sunny's new film titled 'Gandhi':
In an era of aggressive marketing and screaming from the rooftops about the potential of your film, one person who's maintaining an extremely low profile about his film is editor turned director Yusuf Khan. Munna, as he is affectionately called, is almost 75% through with his first film as director KHEL but he hasn't even issued a press release highlighting the progress of his film.
Starring Sunny Deol, Sunil Shetty, cricketer Ajay Jadeja and Celina Jaitley in pivotal roles, the film is racing towards completion. Produced by Sunil Shetty's Popcorn and Galaxy Entertainment Corporation Ltd., Munna plans to wrap the entire shooting by May.
Munna, who's edited Sohail Khan, Anees Bazmee and Sanjay Khanna's films, feels he is lucky to have got Sunil as the producer. He's not one of those actors who's a producer for name sake. He is an active producer. He participates in every discussion we have pertaining to the film. You tell him you want something and he goes all out to ensure that you achieve it. He's one lion-hearted man, he says.
Though the star cast of the film is indeed massive, Munna says he's decided to go in for new talent as far as the music goes. I wanted someone fresh. Someone who'd devote time to the project. That explains why we have 5/6 new people scoring the music of the film, he justifies his decision.
Directing a film is a dream come true for him, he says, and one only hopes that the general feeling about editors making good directors comes true yet again.
