Shiv Sena and HRM target Julie

Last month it was Girlfriend, this month it's Julie. We are talking about the Bollywood films being targeted by the rightwing social activists on moral and cultural grounds. Hindu Raksha Manch (HRM), a sister organization of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, attacked a theatre screening Julie in Raipur, Chhattisgarh on Saturday demanding to stop the screening of the film. The reason for their unruly behavior was the ancient clich?hat the film (where Neha Dhupia plays a prostitute and has some explicit scenes) is against the Indian culture. Also the Shiv Sena (that strikes regularly in such a scenario) indulged in a similar act in a cinema hall in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh on Friday. The theatre owners of Chhattisgarh have sought for a strict action against the HRM activists failing which they will shut down their halls.
