A few weeks ago, this writer broke the news of producer Gaurang [AANKHEN] Doshi planning to shoot a special promo of his film before the film goes on the floors and screen it at the launch ceremony of the film. Any other producer in Gaurang's place would've remained tight-lipped about the cast of his film, wanting to reveal it at the mahurat ceremony itself. But Gaurang has decided to reveal the cast of his ambitious venture to IndiaFM exclusively. Well, the final star cast of DEEWAAR LET'S BRING OUR HEROES HOME is Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt and Akshaye Khanna in stellar roles. There'll be just one leading lady Bipasha Basu while K.K. [CHHAL, PAANCH] will enact the main negative role. While the promo of the film will be of 60 seconds' duration, it'll feature the three main stars in it. While the Big B participates for the shooting of the promo on February 12 (today), Sanju will do so on February 15 and Akshaye on February 17, on three different sets. To be directed by Milan Luthria, DEEWAAR LET'S BRING OUR HEROES HOME will roll either in April-end or in the first week of May. "We've yet to finalize the date of the launch," Gaurang tells me. But he's sure of one thing the film will be released in April 2004, exactly 11 months after it has been launched. What's unique about this promo is that none of the sequences depicted in it will be a part of the film. The entire exercise of making this 60-second promo is expected to cost Gaurang a cool Rs. 25 lacs. Incidentally, a few years ago, the Amitabh Bachchan Sridevi Sanjay Dutt [Nagarjuna replaced the actor subsequently] starrer KHUDA GAWAH was launched in a similar fashion at Gaiety cinema, Bandra. Director Mukul S. Anand had shot a special trailer of the film, which was screened to the august gathering at the launch of the film.
