Aamir Khan's Bhuvan XIII won the Lagaan match against Britannia XIII on Christmas Day at Brabourne Stadium yesterday.
Electing to field after winning the toss, Britannia XIII was shot out for 96 in their allotted 25 overs. The highlight of the first session was Aamir Khan who dropped a diving catch that grazed his hand.
The second session saw Bhuvan XIII winning the match with three wickets to spare. Aamir made 19 runs, the highest in his team. The winning team was presented with a cheque of Rs. 1,30,000. Aditya Lakha (Kachra), who was declared the man of the match, walked away with a cheque of Rs. 50,000. Pradeep Rawat (Deva), won Rs. 25,000 for his three-wicket haul for 24 runs.
The 25,000 strong crowd cheered when Goli's copter bowling was challenged by the opposition. During his victory lap, Aamir sang verses from the popular songs of Lagaan.
Next on the cards for Aamir Khan is a match at the Oscars.
