3 songs of A.R. Rehman on the Oscar list

Its a double celebration time for music director A R Rehman as he will celebrate his birthday with the pleasure of being selected in Oscars short list. Three of his songs have made it to the Oscars short list of 56 songs. Khalabali and Lukka Chuppi from Rang De Basanti and Chan-Chan from Water have been short listed for the 56 songs on the Oscar list. Lagaans music, however, has been eluded from the Oscar, something on which Rehman had more hopes. Rehman will turn 41 in coming January. He shares his birthday with his son, who will turn four on the same day. Rehman feels honored that 3 of his songs have been selected from the 56 songs on the list. He added that the global approach towards Indian films and music has changed. Also modestly he went on to share the credits with Lata Mangeshkar claiming that she was the reason for Lukka Chuppi getting selected from Rang De Basanti.
