Ishaan Khatter and Janhvi Kapoor’s title track from the much awaited Dhadak was launched yesterday with a lot of pomp in Jaipur and it was lapped by masses almost instantly. The song is trending on social media and people are loving the fresh, raw and electric chemistry between its leads. The film is set to release on July 20 and the makers are leaving no stone unturned to make sure that it is promoted well. While Sairat was set in the hinterlands of Maharashtra, Shashank Khaitan has used the colourful, conflicted background of Rajasthan to tell this Romeo-Juliet style love story. While Ishaan and Janhvi’s chemistry is crackling on screen, they are even better off screen. There is a certain camaraderie and comfort that they share and it translates beautifully well.
Both Janhvi and Ishaan have posted a bunch of BTS videos from yesterday’s event and have been doing all kinds of antics as they promote their movie. Also, look at their impromptu dance at the Dhadak song launch. Ishaan is a trained dancer and it is great to see Janhvi match her steps with him with élan. Even when they addressed their fans, they have a lot of inside jokes and banter which is a clear giveaway that they are pretty close to each other, on and off screen. While Ishaan has already made his debut with Majid Majidi’s Beyond The Clouds but this is Janhvi’s first film and therefore very special for her and the family. The makers have dedicated the movie to Sridevi.
