[the role was essayed by Abhishek Bachchan eventually]. In fact, Abhishek was offered the role of Dittu, which has been portrayed by Ritesh Deshmukh in the film. However, Saif politely turned down the offer since he wasnt convinced about the climax. I felt the audience wouldnt accept an unconventional ending, Saif tells me. Now that the climax has come under heavy criticism [the masses are finding it difficult to digest], Saifs judgment stands vindicated.
