Global icon Priyanka Chopra Jonas recently made a special appearance at Hyderabad’s popular AMB Cinemas, sparking excitement among fans and moviegoers alike. The actress’ visit carried a deeper connection to her upcoming magnum opus Varanasi, where she stars alongside Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu.

For the unversed, AMB Cinemas is owned by Mahesh Babu, making Priyanka’s visit all the more noteworthy. The actress was warmly welcomed at the venue by Mahesh Babu’s wife and former actress Namrata Shirodkar, who played host during the outing. Photos from the visit were later shared by the official Instagram handle of the theatre chain, quickly going viral across social media platforms.
Sharing glimpses of Priyanka Chopra Jonas at the venue, the theatre’s social media team posted a heartfelt note celebrating the actress’ presence. “Proof that the best is visited only by the best ?? Because when it comes to the perfect movie experience, there’s only one destination,” the caption read.
The note further made a direct reference to Priyanka’s character in Varanasi, adding, “And some experiences can only happen at #AMBCinemas ?? Like our Mandakini, @priyankachopra along with @namratashirodkar and @sitaraghattamaneni making AMB Cinemas shine a little brighter.”

Priyanka Chopra Jonas’ visit has further amplified anticipation surrounding Varanasi, which marks one of her most awaited returns to Indian cinema. Directed by celebrated filmmaker S. S. Rajamouli, the film is being mounted on a massive scale and is already being described as one of the most ambitious Indian productions in recent years.
The action-adventure drama is expected to blend visually grand storytelling with international production standards. Reports suggest that Varanasi is among the first Indian films to be extensively shot in the IMAX format while also exploring challenging and picturesque locations across the globe.
Apart from Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Mahesh Babu, the film will also feature Prithviraj Sukumaran in a grey-shaded role. The project also reunites Rajamouli with Oscar-winning composer M. M. Keeravani for the film’s music.
With an international cast and crew attached to the project, Varanasi is slated to release in cinemas worldwide on April 7, 2027.
