Kriti Sanon recently looked back at some of the defining moments of her career and spoke about how Mimi became a major turning point for her as an actor.
Reflecting on the film and its reception, Kriti shared, “The biggest was Mimi, and the love that it received because it was the first project that I shouldered. We were living in a very uncertain time of the Covid-19 pandemic; the film was meant to be released in theatres, but it ended up being streamed online instead.”
She added that the response to the film, along with winning the National Award for Best Actress, remains one of the most significant milestones of her journey so far. “The National Award was one of the highest points of my career. I felt like I shattered some notions people had about me, and I was ready for more. I think the audience was, too,” the actress said.
Over the last two years, Kriti has featured in films across different genres. Speaking about the phase she is currently in, Kriti said she values audience connection above everything else. “I’ve had a really good past two years. All my films, be it Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, Crew, Do Patti or Tere Ishk Mein, span diverse characters and zones, but hit the spot with the audience. It’s very important to connect with viewers, especially in today’s times, when mediocrity just doesn’t cut it,” she said.
