The makers of The Devil Wears Prada 2 have unveiled the film’s final trailer, offering a closer look at the much-anticipated sequel to the 2006 hit. The sequel brings back the central cast, with Meryl Streep reprising her role as Miranda Priestly. She is joined by Anne Hathaway as Andy Sachs, Emily Blunt as Emily Charlton, and Stanley Tucci as Nigel.
The sequel returns to the offices of Runway magazine, though the setting reflects a significantly transformed fashion landscape shaped by the rise of digital media. Backed by 20th Century Studios, it revisits the high-pressure world of fashion journalism while reflecting the changes the industry has undergone over the past two decades.
From what is shown in the trailer, the narrative introduces a shift in the professional dynamics between the characters. Miranda, once portrayed as firmly in control of the print fashion space, appears to be navigating a period of uncertainty as the industry moves toward a digital-first approach. The trailer hints at a more layered portrayal of the character, including moments that suggest vulnerability as she reassesses her position.
Andy Sachs’ return is positioned as a key turning point in the story. One of the notable moments in the trailer features her arrival in archival Chanel, followed by a scene that references her past association with Runway. While her reunion with Miranda appears cordial, Emily Charlton’s reaction suggests potential tension within the professional hierarchy. The trailer also features a new original track titled ‘Runway’, performed by Lady Gaga and Doechii, which accompanies the film’s updated tone and setting.
The sequel is directed by David Frankel and written by Aline Brosh McKenna, both of whom were associated with the original film. The cast also includes Kenneth Branagh, Simone Ashley, Justin Theroux, Lucy Liu, B. J. Novak, and Caleb Hearon in key roles. Additionally, Tracie Thoms and Tibor Feldman reprise their roles from the original film, maintaining continuity with the earlier narrative.
