Actor Parineeti Chopra has shared an emotional response after her husband, Raghav Chadha, raised the issue of paternity leave during a recent session of the Rajya Sabha. The Aam Aadmi Party MP urged that paternity leave be recognised as a legal right in India, highlighting the importance of shared parenting responsibilities.

Reacting to his speech, Parineeti reposted the clip on social media and described his intervention as deeply personal as well as socially relevant. She said, “So when you spoke today, it wasn’t just policy. It was built from the way you parent our child 🩵 the way you show up without being asked, the way you understand that PARENTING IS SHARED, not assigned.”
In her note, the actor highlighted that the conversation around shared responsibility in raising a child had been something the couple had often discussed privately. She wrote, “There are so many mothers who carry this responsibility alone, often unheard, unseen. Homes where the fathers’ and family support are missing. Today, you brought their loneliness into the Parliament - a room where it truly matters.”

She added that even if such advocacy helps a small number of families feel more supported, particularly mothers, it would still be a meaningful step forward. Sharing the clip again on her Instagram story, Parineeti described the speech as something that felt like a message not only to her but also to mothers across the country.
