Actor Bimal Oberoi has opened up about the process of landing his role in Dhurandhar The Revenge and his experience working alongside Ranveer Singh in the action drama. In a recent interaction with NDTV, the actor shared details about the auditions, preparation, and support he received on set.
Speaking about how he secured the part, Oberoi revealed that the casting process stretched over several months and involved multiple rounds of evaluation before he finally met director Aditya Dhar. “I auditioned multiple times over a few months. They would send it for feedback, call me again, and it went back and forth. Then I met Aditya Dhar, and he asked me to grow a real beard and shave my head. I said yes immediately because it's such an amazing role. A lot of preparation went into it. Since I restarted acting in 2018, this became a very important opportunity for me.”

Oberoi also spoke about his experience sharing screen space with Ranveer Singh, who plays Hamza Ali Mazari in the film. Recalling his first day on set, the actor described how Singh helped him ease into a crucial emotional sequence. “Ranveer was so much into the film; he owned it. During the shoot, he wasn't only Hamza, he would also be the first AD, he would also be the producer, making sure that if somebody new had joined the production, because I had joined quite late, everything was taken care of. On my first day, we had a very emotional conversation before a crucial scene. He made sure everything around me was perfect. That ice-breaking is very important. Though he is younger, he came across like a senior professional. That made the scene like a cakewalk, there was no inhibition after that.”
In the Dhurandhar universe, Oberoi’s character is closely tied to the arc of Hamza Ali Mazari. In the first installment, Dhurandhar, his character is seen introducing Akshaye Khanna with the title of Sher-E-Baloch. In Dhurandhar The Revenge, after Rehman Dakait’s death, Shirani passes on that title to Ranveer Singh’s character.
