Ranveer Singh has always been a fine performer, but his box office track record was uneven. With Dhurandhar (2025), he delivered his first-ever blockbuster; it emerged as the all-time grosser in the history of Hindi cinema, collecting Rs. 1350.20 crore worldwide gross. Dhurandhar The Revenge is all set to set the box office on fire, considering the historic advance ticket sales. Hence, it is a given that the sequel will also be a Rs. 1000 crore worldwide grosser. In short, Ranveer Singh becomes a Rs. 2000 crore star and the only Bollywood actor of his generation with two back-to-back Rs. 1000 crore grossers. The only other actor to do so is Shah Rukh Khan with Pathaan (2023) and Jawan (2023).
Trade veteran Taran Adarsh said, “You are known by your last Friday. Ranveer is at the peak of his career. It’s a very enviable position to be in, especially when your contemporaries are nowhere around you. To achieve such kinds of numbers and that kind of benchmark is an achievement for any actor. Isse badi baat koi ho hi nahin sakti. Yes, he's a very fine actor. However, in our industry, commercial success matters more. So, I’ll say that he’s in the best phase of his career. It can’t get better than this.”
Shariq Patel, former CEO of Zee Studios, explained, “He was always a top star. A few films not working does not take him out of the race. It’s just that the Rs. 500 crore club was created in 2023 and Ranveer’s films around that time had not worked. Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani (2023) did well, but it was a decent hit. Hence, the comparison at that time was different.”
Trade analyst Atul Mohan said, “We were anyway counting Ranveer Singh among the top five stars. However, there’s no consistency in today’s stars, unlike the previous stars. Actors need to maintain the momentum and deliver back-to-back grossers. When you deliver 5-6 such hits, that's when you become a superstar. But in today’s times, actors deliver a big hit followed by a few flops.”
Suniel Wadhwa, co-founder and director at film production and distribution firm Karmic Films, appreciated Ranveer’s box office run and added, “I don’t think Ranveer will be able to achieve such box office success in his career in the future.”
Vishek Chauhan, owner of Roopbani Cinema in Purnia, Bihar, exulted, “I still believe that he should not take this to his head. He should treat this as a starting point. Before Dhurandhar, he was in a very bad shape, as many of his films had not worked. With Dhurandhar, he has got a fresh extension. Now what Ranveer should realize is that the audience likes him to see him in a larger-than-life, action, mass hero image.”
He added, “5-10 years ago, the heroes used to be metrosexual, but now, people are enjoying the alpha hero all over again. Hence, Ranveer should continue to do films in this space. I heard that his next film is a zombie flick. It’s a great idea. India needs a serious zombie film and it’ll do tremendous business. He has to keep his image intact and make films for Mumbai as well as the B and C centres. Even Ranbir Kapoor is doing the same. Ranveer needs to ensure this doesn’t squander away. Aisa time bahut papad belne ke baad aata hai.”
