Dhurandhar’s (2025) first part had a great start, but as word spread, the business went on a historic high. Its second week's collections were more than the first. It ended up collecting a huge Rs. 895.42 crores and thus emerged as the highest grosser of Hindi cinema. The sequel is all set for an earth-shattering start, as evident by the advance sales. It’ll have the advantage of high prices, an extended first week and zero competition for three weeks. Hence, the question arises – will Dhurandhar The Revenge be the first Hindi film to cross the Rs. 1000 crore mark in the domestic market?

Trade veteran Taran Adarsh optimistically said, “I hope it sets a new benchmark. It’s so important. Pushpa 2 (2024), Jawan (2023) and the first part of Dhurandhar have proved that the sky's the limit when it comes to business, provided we give the audience what they want.”
Vishek Chauhan, owner of Roopbani Cinema in Purnia, Bihar, categorically replied, “I will not be satisfied with anything less than Rs. 1000 crores for Dhurandhar.”
Atul Mohan explained, “There’s all the possibility. In the past, Pushpa 2 beat the lifetime of Pushpa (2021). Similarly, Baahubali 2 (2017) was bigger than Baahubali (2015).”
He added, “The film has to be kadak like the first part. Comparisons are inevitable between the two parts. Opening is sorted and most of the fans would definitely watch the film once.”
However, Suniel Wadhwa, co-founder and director at film production and distribution firm Karmic Films, remarked, “That depends on the film. In the first part, Akshaye Khanna was the driving force. It now remains to be seen how much the absence of Akshaye Khanna in the sequel affects the audience's behaviour and sentiment. Hence, it’s too early to comment on the lifetime. Nevertheless, based on the euphoria of the first part, part 2 will take off to another level for the first 4 ½ days. Then, the content and absence of Akshaye Khanna will decide its fate.”
He also complained about the insane ticket prices, “The ticket rates are not digestible for me. I’ll watch when the rates come down to a reasonable level, at around Rs. 99 or Rs. 199. This is my way of respecting my audience. I saw the first part in the eighth week.”
Shariq Patel, former CEO of Zee Studios, opined, “Rs. 1000 crore is definitely happening. But the flipside is that because the first part has been so hyped, they need to maintain the same tempo in the sequel. They managed to do so in the first part, despite the 3 hours and 30 minutes of length. Ideally, the sequel should be able to match upto the predecessor. But it’s good to be cautiously optimistic about these things.”
“He also said, ‘Nevertheless, the industry is upbeat, and I hope this money flows back into the industry so that filmmakers can make more films. Overall investment is down, and films like Dhurandhar can prove to be a booster shot.”
Taran Adarsh praised the producers, Jio Studios and B62 Studios, “Between Baahubali and Baahubali 2 or Pushpa and Pushpa 2, there was a significant gap. I want to salute the makers for their confidence and for going ahead with the sequel in 3 months. Mind you, the first part is still running in theatres!”
