IMDb recently featured the cast and director of Accused in its ‘Burning Questions’ segment, offering a closer look at the creative decisions and behind-the-scenes moments that shaped the film. Director Anubhuti Kashyap and actors Konkona Sen Sharma and Pratibha Ranta spoke candidly about collaborations, production challenges, and performances that have stayed with them.

During the conversation, Kashyap revealed that filmmaker Karan Johar made a meaningful contribution to the film by refining a crucial scene. “Karan Johar has a big contribution to the film. We had written a scene, and he gave it a slight tweak that changed everything. It was a big learning experience for me that made all the difference in the film,” she shared.
She also detailed the challenges of shooting in Warsaw while attempting to recreate a UK setting. “In Warsaw, they drive on the right side of the road. We drive on the left like the UK. We were trying to make it look like the UK,” she explained. “We couldn’t find cars that had the steering wheel on the right, as we have in India. We didn’t have control of the traffic, so it was always chaotic and often on the wrong side of the road.”
Sen, meanwhile, spoke about performances she deeply admired, mentioning her co-actor Pratibha Ranta’s work in Laapataa Ladies. “I remember Pratibha from Laapataa Ladies. I love Laapataa Ladies, and I love both Nitanshi and Pratibha from the film,” she said. She added, “Pratibha’s face is so arresting on camera; the camera loves her face. I remember being mesmerised by that face and how effectively she uses it in the film.”
The film is currently streaming on Netflix.
