Gulshan Devaiah is all set to make his Telugu film debut with director Nandini Reddy’s Maa Inti Bangaram. The film will see him star opposite Samantha Ruth Prabhu for the first time. The actress is also producing the film under her banner Tralala Moving Pictures. In an exclusive chat with Bollywood Hungama, Gulshan said that he felt an instinct when he first met Samantha some time back.
“When I met Samantha for the first time in my life, I felt our pair would look good,” he said. “I had told this to her. She is very generous and appreciative of people’s work. She openly speaks about other people’s work, which she likes. She told me how much she enjoyed my performance in Guns & Gulaabs and some other projects. Sometimes when you meet people, you know you will look good together. So I told her that we should work together,” said Gulshan.
The actor is happy that he finally got a chance to work with her in Maa Inti Bangaram. “Samantha said that it’s in Telugu and whether I would be okay with it. I said I would be and I do speak little bit of Telugu. But I told her I don’t speak very fluently, so I will need a language coach,” said Gulshan.
Sharing the film’s status, he said, “The shooting has begun. I am already filming it. I just got back from Hyderabad.”
This year, Gulshan completed 15 years as an actor as his debut film That Girl In Yellow Boots had released in 2010. Looking back at his journey so far, he said, “It’s a good and satisfying journey. So many others rather would like this journey. Ups and downs are a part of all journeys; I wish few things would have turned out differently. But it’s okay. I have no reasons to complain about anything. I have only become better as an actor and professional.”
