Salman Khan never made Govinda feel his career was struggling during Partner shoot, reveals Deepshikha Nagpal : Bollywood News

Salman Khan and Govinda’s on-screen camaraderie in Partner (2007) remains one of Bollywood’s most loved collaborations. Reflecting on their time together on set, actress Deepshikha Nagpal, who was also part of the film, recently spoke about the mutual respect the two actors shared despite being at very different stages in their careers.

Speaking about her experience, Deepshikha said, “Of course, Govinda ke saamne dar toh lagega bhai (You are bound to get nervous in front of Govinda). He is the comedy king, and his timing is superb. Everyone around him is extremely alert because you have to match up to him. But Salman isn’t someone you write off, and I have seen the bond between the two of them firsthand.”

She added that Salman maintained a friendly and professional rapport with Govinda throughout the shoot. “Salman never made Govinda feel that his own career was going better, even though Govinda was going through a rough patch. He never made him feel that aapka time nahi chal raha, aur Salman Khan ka chal raha. The bigger man is the one who doesn’t lord his strength over someone else. He respected Govinda and even listened to his inputs during scenes. Yeh uske sanskaar hai (These are his values),” she said.

Deepshikha also shared a lighter moment from the shoot, recalling how Salman remembered a passing remark she made about enjoying jet skiing. “We were shooting a jet-ski scene, and I just said I liked riding them. The next morning, he got one and told me to go for a ride. I mean, he remembered,” she said.

Earlier, Govinda had also spoken about his bond with Salman during the making of Partner. He said, “He’s a good human being. I didn’t expect anything from him. At that time — when Salman was instrumental in getting Partner made — I thought to myself, ‘Why is he helping the film get made?’ I was in a lot of debt back then, but after the film, I was able to come out of that situation. I never forget the people who have been good to me.”

On the work front, Salman Khan is currently gearing up for his upcoming war drama Battle of Galwan, which has generated significant buzz since its first look was unveiled. He is also expected to reunite with Kabir Khan for Bajrangi Bhaijaan 2, a project that may revisit the emotional storytelling of their earlier collaboration.
