Dhanush and Aishwarya Rajinikanth are granted divorce by Chennai Family Court : Bollywood News

Dhanush and Aishwarya Rajinikanth, who had announced their separation via a social media post two years, have been granted divorce on November 27 by the Chennai Family Court. In April, media reported that the couple have filed for a legal separation procedure and have decided to end their 18 years of marriage. The two are parents to two boys – namely Yatra and Linga.

As per current reports, the estranged couple were summoned over three times for a hearing but after failing to do the same, they finally made an appearance on November 21 for the in-camera proceedings, ahead of the final hearing. Reports suggest that the couple discussed the terms and it seems that after a final assurance about the couple’s decision to part ways, the court has granted them a divorce about six days later.

Speaking about the couple, Aishwarya Rajinikanth and Dhanush, both belong to film families. While Aishwarya is the daughter of Tamil megastar Rajinikanth and Latha, Dhanush is the son of filmmaker Kasthuri Raja and Vijayalakshmi. The couple tied the knot in 2004 and became parents to Yatra in 2006 and four years later, their second son Linga was born in June 2010. After their divorce, the couple has decided to co-parent them. The past two years, with the couple living separately, it is being seen that the sons spend time with both their parents, albeit separately.

On the work front, Aishwarya Rajinikanth is a filmmaker and she last directed the sports-action drama Lal Salaam. Meanwhile, Dhanush has acquired the pan-India star status with his past hits and continues to work as an actor and filmmaker-producer. His next, Idli Kadai which will also star Nithya Menen, will see him play the leading man and he will also be directing the same. Apart from that, he has Kubera alongside Rashmika Mandanna, Nagarjuna in the pipeline for release along with a few untitled projects.
