“I am sure Takht journey is going to make me a better actor and performer” - Bhumi Pednekar

Speaking on the same, Bhumi said, “Takht is a big deal for me. Karan is someone I admire and being a part of this magnum opus is truly an honour. I can’t wait to start preparing. I am sure this journey is going to make me a better actor and performer. I am ready to give my all to the film,” Bhumi says. Takht is said to be one of a kind period drama and will be Karan’s first directorial in this genre. It will also have Bhumi in a completely different avatar compared to her other films.

Although not much is being said about the details of the film, when Karan Johar announced the same, he had also mentioned that Takht is all about a battle of love, betrayal, power and politics, all of it related to one Mughal throne.

Since then, there have been many speculations about the film. Many claim that the film is set during the Shah Jahan era when his kids Jahanara Begum, Dara Shikoh and Aurangzeb were supposed to be the successors for the throne. However, no official announcement has been made on that front. Takht is also expected to star Vicky Kaushal, newbie Janhvi Kapoor and veteran star Anil Kapoor.

Bhumi Pednekar, who was last seen in the anthology Lust Stories, will next be seen in Son Chiriya alongside Sushant Singh Rajput. The film is directed by Abhishek Chaubey and it is set against the backdrop of dacoit culture in Chambhal.
