After Shah Rukh Khan and Kamal Haasan, Amitabh Bachchan meets filmmaker Christopher Nolan

Hollywood ace filmmaker Christopher Nolan was in India on a three-day trip. The filmmaker attended several panels to talk support the cause of film preservation and restoration. He talked about the importance of using celluloid film during the digital age. Indian superstars Kamal Haasan and Shah Rukh Khan even met Christopher Nolan during his visit. It was time for megastar Amitabh Bachchan to meet the ace filmmaker.

Many dignitaries including Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan and Kamal Haasan were invited to meet Christopher Nolan. The filmmaker got to interact with everyone. Amitabh Bachchan shared a few glimpses from his meet. Taking to this blog, he wrote, "so an event .. and event of prominent dignitaries from the world of cinema .. gathered here in round table UN conscious kind, to debate and ascertain the importance of film heritage .. and its preservation .. the word film has suddenly lost its charm ; for there does not seem to be any need to shoot films on film .. its all digital now ..”

He further added, "it was known as the ‘film industry’ , they were known as ‘film stars’ .. so in the complete absence of that medium and that product , it would be quite in order to call ourselves ‘robotic genes’ or words of similar sound .. ‘digi act’ .. or ‘digi digi’ .. what ever .. it would be an issue that would need consideration.."

Upon meeting Christopher Nolan, Amitabh Bachchan wrote, "that be Christopher Nolan .. who made ‘DUNKIRK’ .. and he and several others are leading a revolution in bringing back to cinema, the essentiality of film stock .. and Kodak heads being present there, it was quite obvious that the meeting was indeed lending its thoughts to a region that would embrace many discussions and debate .."

On the work front, Amitabh Bachchan has begun shooting for Chiranjeevi’s magnum opus film, Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy. The film shooting commenced in Hyderabad. The megastar will shoot his part in Ayan Mukherji’s Brahmastra after his South film. The film stars Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt in the lead roles. It is scheduled for August 15, 2019, release.

Before Brahmastra, the megastar is set to star alongside Rishi Kapoor in Umesh Shukla’s 102 Not Out. Billed as the most unusual father and son story, 102 Not Out is based on playwright Saumya Joshi’s well known Gujarati play by the same name. The film is produced by SPE Films India, Treetop Entertainment and Umesh Shukla’s Benchmark Pictures. The film releases worldwide on 4th May 2018.
