Last week the media went crazy with the announcement of the title of Shah Rukh Khan’s next venture with Aanand L Rai, wherein he plays a dwarf. While the teaser of the Zero was revealed, the audience were also treated to the first glimpses of what Shah Rukh Khan’s dwarf character would look like in the film.
Later, a poster that featured Shah Rukh Khan as a dwarf was also released by the makers of the film that sported the release date of Zero. Taking to the image sharing site, Instagram, maverick photographer Avinash Gowariker shared the poster saying, “First post of 2018! #Zero. Loved doing this shoot. Perfect blend of #TechnologyMeetsContent. @iamsrk @gaurikhan @AnushkaSharma @katrinakaif @aanandlrai @redchilliesent @cypplofficial @marchingants_ #Zero #ShahRukhKhan #KatrinaKaif #AnushkaSharma #ShootDiaries #POTD”.
We caught up with Avinash Gowariker to find out how exactly he shot the image. Talking about the shoot, Gowariker added, “The shoot was a pretty quick one, both Aanand L Rai sir, and Shah Rukh had a very clear picture on what they wanted in terms of both looks and expression, so it was rather easy to shoot.” When prodded further about what went into making SRK appear like a dwarf, and whether he used any special technology, Gowariker revealed, “Actually no, I used standard lenses and fired off a couple of test shots. After that, we just did the shoot with pictures being taken from different heights to give a different perspective.”
Concluding his behind the scenes revelation on how he shot the poster of Zero, Gowariker added, “Once we got a few shots of what we wanted, Aanand sir and Shah Rukh went through the images selecting the best ones to be used. If was rather quickly done.”
While the revelations were pretty neat to understand perspective photography, Zero, the film that will see Shah Rukh Khan sharing screen space with his Jab Tak Hai Jaan co-stars Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif will hit screens on December 21, 2018.
