Vikram actress Gayathrie Shankar’s comments on Lokesh Kanagaraj’s acting debut sparks memes across social media

Readers would be aware that in a unique collaboration the Vikram team of Kamal Haasan and Lokesh Kanagaraj have reunited for a one-of-a-kind music video of the song ‘Inimel’ along with Kamal’s daughter and singer-actress Shruti Haasan. While the teaser was unveiled on March 21, actress Gayathrie Shankar, who worked with Kanagaraj on Vikram, came across this clip and couldn’t stop herself from making a quirky comment referring to her character from the action entertainer. In fact, her remark has become so viral that netizens have been creating interesting memes out of it.

The recent teaser of ‘Inimel’ showcases a realistic but romantic chemistry between Lokesh Kanagaraj and Shruti Haasan. The filmmaker made his acting debut with this music video and it seems to have taken several of his fans by surprise. Among them was also Gayathrie Shankar who took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to comment on the video. She made a reference to her scene from their film Vikram and questioned how her character, who was the wife of one of the key characters, was killed and her head was chopped off  whereas Lokesh gets to do all the lovey-dovey scenes in his acting debut. She said, “Unga padathula romance panna thalayai vettittu.. what is this ma (If there is romance in your film, you chop off their head.. what is this bro?) Her quirky tweet seems to have found a way into the heart of netizens, who started trending ‘JusticeForGayathrie’ and shared several memes and gif expressions of the actress from her films.

 

 

For the unversed, Gayathrie plays the role of Gayathri Amar aka the wife of Fahadh Faasil in the LCU action entertainer. Vikram also starred Vijay Sethupathi, Kalidas Jayaram, Narain, among a host of ensemble cast and released in multiple languages including Hindi on June 3, 2022.
