While Ajith Kumar fans were excited to catch his action-packed avatar on the big screen, it seems that Vidaamuyarchi has fallen prey to piracy just like many of its contemporaries. The film that not only marks the return of the superstar after two years in theatres but also sees him reunite with Trisha Krishnan after several years, had sparked much anticipation among the audiences. However, disappointing the makers who were equally eager to present this high-octane actioner on the silver screen, the film seems to have fallen prey to piracy.

Lyca Productions champions for ‘No Piracy’

 

Vidaamuyarchi joined the list another set of South films which were leaked online, despite many warnings from the filmmakers and the government. Prior to the release, the production house Lyca Productions, had taken to the social media platform X aka Twitter to make a request to the social media fam to refrain from promoting piracy or pirated content. Their post read, “Every effort counts! ?? Say NO to piracy and watch VIDAAMUYARCHI only in theatres! ??”

Meanwhile, the film has been receiving a lot of love from industry insiders. From Vignesh Shivan to Venkat Prabhu to Adhik Ravichandran to Karthik Subbaraj, many have penned their reviews for the film, showering their love on Ajith Kumar as well as filmmaker Magizh Thirumeni.

Set against the backdrop of Azerbaijan, the high-octane action drama revolves around a man’s desperate attempts to save his abducted wife in the midst of their divorce proceedings. Also starring Arjun Sarja, Regina Cassandra, Arav, among others in key roles, the film was expected to release in January but the release date was pushed further. Now, the actioner released in cinemas, ahead of Valentine’s Day, on February 6.
