Only "Samantha", that's how she will be known in the public domain now
Samantha is no more Samantha Ruth Prabhu. She has taken the decision to be known as… just Samantha!
During her prior marriage to actor Naga Chaitanya, Samantha had briefly assumed her husband’s surname and was known professionally as ‘Samantha Akkineni’.
However, this time Sam is in the mood to preserve her identity in the marriage. In this, she is one with Deepika Padukone and Alia Bhatt who have retained their pre-marital surname. However, Samantha has gone a step further and done away with the surname entirely.
On the work front, Samantha recently signed director Nandini Reddy’s film Maa Inti Bangaram. This is the third time that the actress will be working with the director after Jabardasth and Oh! Baby.
