Samantha Ruth Prabhu on her separation, “I don’t want to forget anything because…”

Samantha Ruth Prabhu announced her divorce with actor Naga Chaitanya in 2021, after tying the knot with him in 2017. The actress hasn’t preferred speaking much about that tragic incident much. But she got talking on her separation in a recent interview.

While talking to the portal Gulte, Samantha was asked if there is one memory that she would like to forget. The actress realized that she is been asked about her divorce. She replied, “You are getting me into trouble! I don’t want to forget about anything because everything taught me something in life. So, I wouldn’t want to forget, may be… Do I have to say it out aloud? (laughs). No, I am not getting into trouble. I am not going to answer this question. I want to remember everything because everything taught me a lesson.”

 

Apart from the divorce, Samantha also got diagnosed with myositis last year. Sharing what all she went through during such phases, she had told Zoom at the end of las month, “I was in a very, very dark place during the toughest times of this condition. You name it, I had the most darkest thoughts. And then I realised that I’m not going to do anything about these dark thoughts. If I’m not going to let it destroy me, it means that I’m going to have to start putting one step forward. And every day after that, I took it one step at a time, and I’ve had amazing people, family and close friends, who’ve stood by me every single day.”

 

On the work front, Samantha will next be seen in the keenly awaited Telugu film Shakuntalam. The film is based from a chapter from Mahabharata’s Adi Parva where she plays the titular role while Dev Mohan plays her husband Dushyanta. Directed by Gunasekhar, the movie will be releasing in theatres on April 14.
