Rana Daggubati reacts to a fan claiming that Nani choose Jai Bhim over Allu Arjun winning National Award for Pushpa

The 69th National Film Awards created history with Allu Arjun becoming the first Telugu star to have won Best Actor for the Telugu blockbuster Pushpa: The Rise. The film created an uproar with its massive success at the box office. While many Telugu stars were thrilled to see the win and even congratulated Arjun on social media, a post shared by his colleague Nani has left some fans disappointed. They believed that Nani chose another film from another language over Allu Arjun’s win at the National Awards and one of them recently also quizzed another Telugu star Rana Daggubati regarding the same.

At an event held for SIIMA 2023, Rana Daggubati, who attended the press conference for the awards, was asked by a fan regarding Nani’s post. Talking about the post shared by Nani on his Instagram story, it featured the movie name Jai Bhim accompanied by a heartbreak emoji, showcasing his disappointment over how the film did not win an award. The Suriya starrer had received a lot of rave reviews and many fans also supported Nani about the film not receiving enough recognition at the National Film Awards. However, some fans felt that Nani was choosing the Suriya film over the prestigious victory of Allu Arjun.

 

 

A fan decided to ask the question to Rana Daggubati, wherein she wondered if Nani’s post was a result of any inhouse competition, to which the Rana responded, “Each one is entitled to his opinion. I like different kinds of movies, you like something else. It is the same with the artistes. If a film that one loves a lot doesn’t win, that makes him very sad. That’s it. It doesn’t mean that he is disappointed with another person winning the award. It is never a controversy. It was just a tweet. Amongst us, there’s never controversy.”

 

 

For the unversed, Jai Bhim is a Tamil language legal drama revolving around a lawyer’s battle for justice for tribal people who were wronged. Featuring Suriya, Lijomol Jose, Manikandan, among others, the film received a lot of rave reviews from critics as well as audiences.
