Pushpa 2 producers Mythri Movie Makers and Dil Raju land in Income Tax trouble

In a significant development, the Income Tax (IT) Department conducted a massive raid on the properties of renowned film producer Dil Raju and the prominent production house Mythri Movie Makers. The raids, which took place on Tuesday, have sent shockwaves through the Telugu film industry. Dil Raju, who recently produced Game Changer, saw his residences and offices targeted, with the action extending to over eight locations along with Mythri Movie Makers who are the producers of the film Pushpa 2 – The Rule.

According to reports, the IT Department deployed a total of 55 teams to carry out the raids, which included locations in areas such as Jubilee Hills, a known upscale locality in Hyderabad. The raids also extended beyond Dil Raju’s properties, covering his brother Shirish, daughter Hanshitha Reddy, and other close family members. In addition, the properties of Mythri Movie Makers’ co-founders, Naveen Yerni and Ravi Shankar, were also scrutinized by the tax authorities.

 

The exact reason for the raids has not yet been disclosed by the IT Department, leaving many to speculate about the nature of the investigation. While some are pointing towards potential financial irregularities, others believe that it may be connected to the substantial financial dealings associated with high-budget film productions such as Pushpa 2.

 

As of now, there has been no official statement from Dil Raju, Mythri Movie Makers, or the IT Department regarding the ongoing investigation. The film fraternity is closely watching the developments, as this raid could have significant implications for the industry’s financial landscape.

 

Pushpa 2, directed by Sukumar, is one of the most anticipated Telugu films in recent times. The film, which stars Allu Arjun in the lead role, along with Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil, is the continuation of the hugely successful Pushpa: The Rise. The film released amid much fanfare turning out to be a record-breaking success of 2024. Meanwhile, Ram Charan – Kiara Advani starrer Game Changer was one of the first releases in January 2025 but the film failed to live up to the hype and expectations.
