Lokesh Kanagaraj issues statement after Nagarajuna scene from the sets of Coolie leaks online; says, “Two months of hard work by many people have gone in vain”

Lokesh Kanagaraj is currently shooting for his ambitious film starring Rajinikanth in the lead, titled Coolie. The Pan-India entertainer also boasts of an ensemble cast along with the Tamil superstar which includes the likes of Shruti Haasan and Nagarjuna. Recently, as the filmmaker shared excitement about the film going on floors, the director was in for a shock when one of the key scenes from the film featuring Nagarjuna leaked online.

Readers would be aware that Coolie is a massy entertainer with intense action sequences. In a recent scene which was being shot with Nagarjuna playing the menacing and brutal Simon in the movie, a glimpse of the same found its way on social media. While this sparked excitement among fans who shared their anticipation for the film’s release, the filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj was quite upset with the lack of privacy while shooting for the movie. In fact, he took to the social media platform X to issue a statement requesting audiences and people present on the sets to refrain from capturing and releasing these moments online.

 

 

“Two months of hard work by many people have gone in vain because of one recording. I humbly request everyone not to engage in such practices, as they spoil the overall experience. Thank you.,” he said in the statement he posted on X.

 

 

Speaking about the film Coolie, it is expected to also star Soubin Shahir, Sathyaraj, and Upendra in key roles along with the rest of the integral cast. With music handled by Anirudh Ravichander, the film’s technical crew also includes cinematographer Girish Gangadharan, film editor Philomin Raj, along with stunt coordinators Anbariv. While the release date is yet to be finalized, the film is expected to release sometime in 2025.
