BTS’ J-Hope makes a generous donation of over Rs. 3.24 lakhs to his hometown Gwangju in South Korea
South Korean pop titans BTS’ rapper J-Hope made a thoughtful donation to his beloved hometown Gwangju.
According to the Korean tabloid Soompi, on January 2, it was reported that J-Hope made a donation to the Bukgu district of Gwangju participating in the Hometown Love Donation Campaign.
“J-Hope, who is currently in the United States, has expressed his intention to donate 5 million won (over Rs. 3.24 lakhs) through his father. Once J-Hope returns to Korea, he will send his donation by internet to his hometown of Bukgu,” a city representative shared.
Moon In, the Bukgu Office Manager, shared, “We will prepare thoroughly so that the three-in-one hometown love donation project, that contributes to the vitalization of the local economy, is used for the development of Bukgu, to respond to local population decline, and to secure local financial resources. I anticipate that J-Hope’s intention to donate will also have a great impact on the settlement of the system.”
As per the report, for the Hometown Love Donation Project, individuals donating to their hometown can only donate up to 5 million won a year through a tax deduction benefit and return gift policy. As per the report, J-Hope chose from 30 different return gift options, such as agricultural product packages, tomatoes, and eco-friendly detergents.
Meanwhile, on the eve of the same day, J-Hope returned to Korea from the United States. The rapper was in the States for “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve” live new year bash where he gave an enthralling performance for the famous American New Year’s Eve TV special.
