Ali Fazal expresses excitement at his Hollywood film Kandahar releasing in 2000 screens in the US

Ali Fazal is one of those Bollywood actors who has also acted in international films. His Hollywood movie Kandahar is all set to release around the globe on May 26. The actor’s first look from the spy action thriller was recently unveiled. It had him alone in a solo poster of him sitting on a swanky bike in a desert in a black attire. It is now learnt that Kandahar is all set to release in 2000 screens in the US alone.

Delighted at this mews, Ali said in a statement, “Very excited with this development. A release that wide in the US alone is massive and being an action spy thriller, there is a wide audience for the film. A wide release coupled with a major weekend in the US, I am hoping for this to be a banger. The film has all the elements to be a complete entertainer.”

 

Directed by Ric Roman Waugh, Kandahar also stars Gerard Butler, Travis Fimmel, Elnaaz Norouzi, Navid Neghaban among others.

 

Earlier in the month when the trailer of Kandahar was out, Ali’s character was kept under wraps. Sharing the reason for the same, a source had said, “Since the trailer had been out, there have been questions about Ali’s character being kept under wraps. People asked us questions like, ‘Why are the makers of Kandahar, keeping Ali’s character under wraps? The intention is to keep the audience guessing and have a large part of the character as a visual surprise on screen. All the glimpses of the man riding the bike, getting off the helicopter shows Ali’s silhouette against a deserted backdrop, with his ardent fans smartly recognising him. Basically, Ali plays the character that is leading a key operation in Kandahar and his character has multiple shades. He will also be seen going up against the character of Gerard Butler.”
