Karan Johar reveals he is excited to watch Kangana Ranaut starrer Emergency

For the past few years, the massive uproar regarding nepotism with Kangana Ranaut as the flagbearer of this war has been erupting frequently. Despite the good box office business of Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani which also marked the return of Karan Johar in the directorial space, Kangana continued to take a dig on the filmmaker as well as the success of the film. On the other hand, Kjo, who recently attended an event in Mumbai has expressed his desire to watch the actress’ upcoming film Emergency.

Karan Johar recently attended Express Adda in Mumbai, wherein he opened about his desire to watch this film based on real life events. The filmmaker was asked if he would like to make on any political events, to which he responded, “The Emergency is being made and I am excited to watch it.” The film will feature Kangana Ranaut in the role of former and India’s only female Prime Minister, Indira Gandhi.

 

For the unversed, Karan Johar and Kangana Ranaut were at loggerheads after the latter accused him of being the flagbearer of nepotism during her stint in his show Koffee With Karan. While the feud continued with the actress placing many allegations and even taking to social media targeting the filmmaker as well as his mentee Alia Bhatt including accusing the latter of having a fake marriage with Ranbir Kapoor, Karan Johar has responded to her allegations a few times by sharing cryptic posts.

 

On the work front, Kangana Ranaut starrer Emergency features a host of actors like Anupam Kher, Mahima Choudhary, Shreyas Talpade, among others. The film, also directed by the actress, is slated for release on November 24, this year. It is based on the historical emergency which was imposed in India in the 70s by the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.
